Callery Counseling was named after the 9/11 survivor tree in New York City. This Callery Pear, despite being charred and weakened, was nursed back to health and thrives in New York City today. The tree's seeds are gifted to communities who have endured trauma year after year. The founder and owner of Callery Counseling, Ardenna Downing, was so inspired by this tree when visiting, that she named her practice after it. For Ardenna, the Callery Pear tree represents survival in inhospitable, traumatic conditions, with the capacity to strengthen, thrive and grow. She believes that the human experience can mirror the Callery Pear that survived 9/11, with the therapeutic services she offers.
All of our sessions are done remotely. Please contact us to schedule an appointment. If you are having an emergency, please call 911.
